In a spine-chilling incident that occurred in Morena district, an inspector and two constables on Friday were charged for sodomy and torturing a suspected goat thief in a horrendous act.
The alleged thief, Anwar, was taken into custody after the police suspected him of stealing a goat. The three cops hung him upside down, rubbed chilli in his private parts and thrust a rod inside him after pouring petrol. Action is yet to be taken against them.
The series of events took place in Jaora police station, where Anwar was tortured on instructions of the station house officer (SHO) Hemant Sharma. He was taken to the hospital in a critical state, after the infection started to spread in his body, according to a report published in Times of India.
Anwar and his family members told investigators that he was picked up on suspicion of stealing a goat and taken to Jaora police station, tortured on instructions of station house officer (SHO) Hemant Sharma.
Sharma and two other constables of Jaora police station have been charged under Section 377 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), section 120 b (voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man) and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means).
The case was registered at Kotwali police station and transferred to Joara police station for further investigations. All three were taken off active duty.
